VAPOUR NIGHT
Vapour Night is Murray's dark noisy wintery pop music project. Highly influenced by shoegaze, dark electronica, post-rock, post-punk & dream pop - this particular body of work consists of three releases, spanning the years of 2013-2015.
These three Vapour Night releases got a surprising amount of critical acclaim from underground music reviewers & bloggers at the time, and featured guest vocal contributions from Sun Devoured Earth and Jane Woodman.

Near Lakes is a "summer ambient" project that was conceived as a result of Murray having composed an album's worth of material which he felt didn't aesthetically belong under the umbrella of his main ambient project The Lonely Bell.
Near Lakes treads lighter/brighter sonic territories, incorporating fragments of classical music, jazz & soul into gentle airy dreamscapes of plaintive ambience and melancholic drones that makes one nostalgic for quiet sleepy summer days of years gone by, spent outside in nature, lost in reverie...
The debut Near Lakes album 'Flowers of the Heart' was released on the Dutch ambient label Shimmering Moods in 2024.

Fall Town are (were?) an alternative punk band from the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, in which Ali Murray was the lead vocalist & guitarist.
Fall Town formed in 2019, and recorded their one and only album 'After The Crash' on the week that Covid-19 became a global pandemic, in late March 2020. They never got to play a single live show, but the memory lives on through their debut album.

Their long-awaited and highly-anticipated debut album 'Catmandu' was released in 2025, which consists of seven dark, eerie, mournful death ballads sung entirely by cats...

The Stolen Promenade is a dreamy psychedelic-tinged alt-folk project by Ali Murray.
After having decided that he was no longer interested in releasing anymore music under his own name, Murray originally intended this project to be an "audio scrapbook" of sorts, collecting various songs of his that didn't find a place (or make the cut) on any official releases, and just putting them out into the world without any fuss or promotion or ceremony...
Whilst the songs of The Stolen Promenade certainly aren't a far cry from the material he released under his own birth name - the project does seem to have its own aesthetic, and continues to perform within its own void... and will likely resonate in some way with fans of the rest of Ali Murray's work.
